Last month, precisely February 12, the king of Abavo kingdom, Obi Uche Irenuma II, appeared before a magistrate court in Asaba, over 16 count charges boarding on attempted murder, arson, giving false information, breach of public peace and so on. The king was charged along with Uwamagbe Festus, Irenuma Ogechukwu, Amadi Chison and Prince Chinedu Irenuma in a suit number CMA/75/C2014

Curiously, the monarch developed convulsion during his appearance in court and the medical team that brought him to court in a stretcher from the hospital had to battle to keep him alive. When he was revived, his lawyer tried to stop his trial from proceeding but the magistrate, Queen Momoh refused to bulge. Thus the magistrate adjourned the matter to March 11, 2014 and ordered that the monarch be kept in prison till the next adjourned date.

It would be recalled that the Abavo monarch, Obi Irenuma, the 2nd, has for some time now, know no peace. This community sources say is as a result of recent happenings in the monarch
