Royal fathers from the Council of Oron Traditional Rulers were on a courtesy visit to the Maritime Academy of Nigeria recently

Impressed with what they have heard about the transformation that is going on at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN, Oron, members of the Council of Oron Traditional Rulers, an assemblage of traditional rulers, decided to pay a courtesy visit to the Rector, Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Joshua Okpo.
The traditional rulers who used the opportunity to go round the Academy told the rector during the interactive session that they were impressed with the development that is going on in the area of land released to the academy by the state government for expansion in preparation for a degree-awarding status. Of particular interest to the traditional rulers were the new buildings springing up in both phase one and phase three, as well as the boat yard that is under construction, the sleep way and the jetty.
The traditional rulers also thanked Okpo for the beautiful road network around the Academy as well as the neat and serene environment which they described as good for learning. They pledged their readiness to go to any length with the Rector to make the academy a degree-awarding institution.
