Olu of Warri Urge Reporters to Desist from irresponsible Journalism

The Olu Of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, who was crowned on 21 August 2021 on Tuesday 5th October 2021 urged Journalists in the world at large to desist from irresponsible Journalism .

The Ogiame Atuwatse 111, of Warri made this Pronouncement when members of the Warri Correspondents Chapel led by the Chapel Chairman, Comrade Okies Vickies paid him a courtesy visit to formally congratulate him on his accendency to the highly respected throne and also to partner with him.

The Olu of Warri urged media practitioners across the world to desist from inresponsible Journalism and noted that there is the need to always report nothing but the truth at all times.

The Monarch, while commending the role of Journalists as the fourth estate of the realm noted that:
“Late Steve Jobs said, the most powerful person in the world are story tellers”.
“Initially I didn’t know the meaning but now I do.Those who control what media establishments say, are the powerful people.
“For a gathering of story tellers- Jouranalists to come and want to partner with us, you are doing a great service .
“The way the world is today, the internet has become both a blessing and a curse.thus the information tool, if not well used,can wreak havoc”.

The Monarch therefore encouraged media practitioners to stand by the truth at all times, adding that God has a way of rewarding those who do truthfull reportage.

In attendance at the ceremony were palace chiefs and some members of the royal family including Chief Solomon Areyinka, Chief Johnson Amstseru leghe, Chief Brown Mene, Chief Bedi Gawa,and a host of others.
