Tantita Security Showcasing Nigeria Indigenous Company’s Capacity to the World
By Ovie Edomi
Capt. Warredi Enisouh, Executive Director, Technical and Operations,Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL, who attended the just concluded Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in USA must be happy with the outcome of the conference just as many other Nigerians who saw the global event.
Tantita attracted the OTC conference in recognition of its laudable achievements which came to light over six years ago following its impressive emergence at tackling crude oil theft via pipeline vandalization and sabotage, which gained public attention, trust and support as the company continues to steadily and decisively stop criminal pipeline vandals in Nigeria’s territory, a development that has led to gradual but sustained increase in crude production, free of the hitherto barefaced theft and sabotage that knocked down Nigeria’s crude sale capacity.
To this end, Captain Enisuoh from May 5-8, 2025, joined other captains of industries and representatives of related companies worldwide in cutting the ribbon at the OTC opening ceremony of the annual event that took place in Houston Texas, United States of America.
Tantita’s logo was not only hoisted on the opening ceremony webpage, and the event signage outside the hall, proclaiming its sponsorship of the event, Captain Enisuoh Tantita’s representative, was accorded participation in the VIP special breakfast session. He equally spent part of the conference speaking to high school students about Tantita’s operations emphasizing the need for young Nigerians to develop a deeper understanding of environmental and ecological systems, especially as the world continues to prioritize sustainable solutions.
President of Ijaw Youth Council, Jonathan Lokpobiri, who visited the Tantita’s stand at the event said Tantita has demonstrated sufficient trust, professionalism and competence in maritime security services to begin to consider availing its services beyond the shores of Nigeria’s maritime, oil and gas shores.” Lokpobiri equally commended the company for its laudable strides at the conference and eulogized the security company for flying the nation’s flag positively to the outside world.
Dr. Eugene Nweke, Head of Sea Empowerment and Research Center (SEREC) also applauded the Nigerian maritime, oil and gas security firm for its rebranding and repositioning effort, noting he has no doubt that Tantita will go places. According to him,
“The Tantitta’s determination to rebrand and reposition itself as a leader in tackling security and environmental concerns in the Niger Delta region is indeed laudable. The video footage of the conference simply highlights Tantitta’s efforts to rebrand and reposition itself as a leader in tackling security and environmental concerns in the Niger Delta region.
“It is not also surprising that stakeholders continuously commend the Tantita’s efforts in thinking national, home safety and security first of our maritime industry, as a priority, thus, attracting increased support and collaboration in the future.“It must be stated that at the long run, the development seems promising for the well being of Tantita, Nigeria and the Niger Delta region. And to us at SEREC this development has some potential benefits, because it’s obvious that Tantita’s determination and participation in the global scene could trigger many benefits not only for Nigeria but for the sub region, Africa and the rest of the world in terms of Tantita’s unique maritime security proficiency.According to Nweke, Tantita’s pedigree and recorded successes can also contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth by continuing to protect the country’s oil assets and promoting a more stable business environment.“
The President of Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN), Mr. Emmanuel Maiguwa, also extolled Tantita Security Services Limited for its sterling performance at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2025 noting that though Nigerian security companies are not known to be players in the international maritime space, but a visit to Tantita’s exhibition stand in Houston, demonstrates a commitment to international best practices.
The magazine gathered that officials of the company gained eye-opening experiences on the vast opportunities that exist for indigenous Nigerian solutions on the global stage. Speaking to journalist, Captain (Dr) Enisuoh Warredi, Executive Director, Operations and Technical, Tantita, noted that the firm has become richer in terms of exposure, ideas and futuristic outlook.“This is our first time at the OTC, and while it was a huge leap for us, the response we got made it worth every effort. We found ourselves sharing space with world leaders in technology, and to their surprise, a Nigerian firm like ours had something just as powerful to offer.” According to Warredi, Tantita’s innovations in tackling oil theft, conducting maritime patrol, deploying airborne surveillance drew significant attention from global stakeholders.Warredi further noted that several international delegates were astonished by the level of technological advancement emanating from Nigeria and expressed interest in bringing Tantita’s solutions to their own countries.“That’s one of the biggest takeaways for us, he noted.
Furthermore he stated that the opportunity is there — in greening the environment, solving real-world challenges, and thinking globally. Our youth can lead that charge, and platforms like OTC.
Tantita’s groundbreaking appearance at OTC underscores a compelling message for Nigeria’s private sector that the global market is ready for indigenous solutions, and that event like the OTC offers a gateway to these opportunities.
It would be recalled that the federal government through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) had contracted Tantita to monitor the nation’s oil pipelines as well provide surveillance on movement of crude on the waterways to prevent theft and smuggling.Following its impressive emergence at tackling crude oil theft Tantita sooner gained public attention, trust and support as it steadily and decisively routed the criminal pipeline vandals, leading to gradual but sustained increase in crude oil production, free of the hitherto barefaced criminal sabotage and stealing, which had at the time of its emergence, gone down to all time low average of 800,000 bpd. It would be recalled that the NNPCL while announcing the last quarter of 2024 crude production chart, indicated an impressive rise with a recorded 1.486 million bpd in November 2024.
Indeed, Tantita’s participation at the just concluded Offshore Technology Conference was therefore rewarding both to the country and the company as Tantita’s officials gained eye-opening experiences on the vast opportunities that exists for indigenous Nigerian solutions on the global stage.
