Presidential Election: Governor Okowa Losses Delta State to Obi

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, could not deliver his state at the just conducted presidential election as his party, the PDP came behind Peter Obi, the flag bearer of the Labour Party at the presidential election.

According to the results announced by the Delta State Presidential Election Collation Officer (SCOPE), Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill of the University of Port-Harcourt, on Tuesday, 28th February, 2023, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Delta State Headquarters, Asaba, the LP scored a total of 341,866 votes to defeat the PDP that polled 161,600 votes. The APC came third with 90,183 votes.

Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill
also gave the total number of registered Voters as 3,225,046 and accredited Voters as 667,149. He added that total Valued Votes was 615,342 rejected Votes 39,309 and Total Votes Cast 654,650.
