Twelve years after the take-off of Peace Global Satellite, a landline phone, with a bank loan which resulted into a court case between WEMA Bank and Peace Global Satellite Communications, last month, cable vandals using soldiers as shield, stormed a location in Ojodu, Lagos where Peace Global Satellite underground cables were removed, with the police in dilemma over how to prosecute the offenders thereby making the telecom operator to count its loses

When in 2004, Barrister Oreye Udo Livingstone, Managing Director, Peace Global Satellite Communications Limited, got licence to operate wired telephone in Omole Phases I and II and their environs; he was full of excitement and looked forward to good returns on his investment.
However, two years after the successful take off, thunder storm damaged the Peace Global Satellite Telephone Switch and since 2006 till date Peace Global Satellite Communications Limited, owners of Peace Global land line which has invested over N500m into the project has been struggling to keep the telephone line going especially with mobile telephone that has made land less attractive to users, and WEMA Insurance Brokers Limited failure to process the company
