Edomi, Renowned Journalist, Editor and Publisher Bury mother-in-Law in Grand Style
On Saturday, Ughelli and its’ environs were agog with joy as convoy of vehicles move from one location to another and stop intermittently at different places for relations and friends to pay last respect to Deaconess Mrs Agnes Adeteye Omorhurhu Afonughe nee Anidi, the mother to the wife of Dr. Ovie Edomi, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of South South International magazine.
The burial ceremonies which were held at Afisere primary school Ughelli Delta State and the diseased country home also located at Afisere attracted several notable Urhobo personalities amongst whom are Archbishop Goddowell Oyibo Avwomakpa, foremost preacher and President of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Worldwide, Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite, a former governorship aspirant under PDP, Captain Anthony Onoharigho, immediate past Deputy President General of UPU, Hon Abel Oshevire, renowned Prof Akpos Taiga, Renowned Medical Practitioner, Rev Dr Deji Akinlade, renowned Lawyer, Barrister Anthony Duku, Rev Dr Lucky Otegheri, former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Olorogun Patrick Emurese, Mr Hope Ighomrore, Chief Godwin Okene, Olorogun Samuel Omoyibo, Surveyor Sunny Erinyamremu, Sir Efe Okoro and Anthony Ahweyevwu. Others are Olorogun Anthony Agbovinure, Samuel Majemite, Princess Harreth Tobi, Apostle Favour Ntaka, Mrs Gloria Arijovwode, William Umukoro, a Director with the Delta state civil service amongst others.
Also present at the occasion were old students of St. Theresa’s Grammar school, staff of NIMC, Urhobo Uvuovo Union, Great Physician Church members, First Apostlic Church’s members, Christ Missionaries Crusaders’ members amongst others.
Speaking with Journalists during the ceremony, Mrs Anna Edomi, a staff with NIMC described her late mother as a real and unique Africa woman who would not eat until her children have eaten. Besides Mrs Edomi noted that her mother was an explanary woman, industrious, dedicated to God’s work, and made sure she trained all her children to become graduates. More importantly, Mama’s departure she noted was an addition to heaven
