It was celebration galore for members of the Great Physician Ministries, Living Word Church, Badagry, Lagos as they rolled out the drums to mark the 65th birthday anniversary of their General Overseer and Senior Pastor, Rev Dr Deji Akinlade, a famous medical practitioner/expert, administrator turned pastor as well as the wife, and Mummy G.O, Pastor Mrs Dele Akinlade whose birthday was earlier in June.

The members of the church however decided to use one day, precisely July 7, to mark Daddy and Mummy’s birthday anniversaries. The ceremony which drew members from across the different branches of The Physician Ministries, equally attracted friends and wishers from other ministries within the Lagos metropolis.

In a sermon titled from Glory to Glory, at the birthday thanksgiving service in honor of the couple, Pastor Engr Mrs Lijiofi, one of the first female first class Engineering graduates of University of Lagos in the early 80s, noted that it could only have been God that made a child who lost his father at the age of 8 to rise through school in flying colors and not only become a renowned Surgeon and Gynecologist but also a Pastor. He attributed the rise of Rev Dr Deji  Akinlade to the faithfulness and grace of God. She says destiny no doubt played a role in the path that Rev Dr Deji Akinlade took but was quick to note also that the reverend was raised in the fear of God. She equally described Pastor Mrs Akinlade as a woman of virtue and  enjoined couples to be an inspiration to their children and others. She urged Christian couples to strive for success in humility, submission and focus if they must move from glory to glory.

Indeed, for Rev Dr Deji Akinlade and his wife, Pastor Mrs Dele Akinlade, the birthday celebration, is understandable because Rev Dr & Pastor Mrs Dele  Akinlade have touched many lives through the church and the hospital. From all indications, the Akinlades are ready to do more for humanity and the church. Certainly, if all men and women of God who are called can provide for people under them, so much will be guaranteed for the people of God.
