The President General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU Worldwide, Olorogun Barrister Ese Gam Owe has commended the UPU Ambassador Plenipotentiary, Dr. Mrs. Chief Omodoro Adeseye-Ogunlewe for setting up a formidable political pressure group now mobilizing support for the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027.
Olorogun Ese Gam Owe described the gesture as a welcome development because it is in the interest of the Urhobo Nation that had suffered stiff marginalization and deprivation for years despite its huge contributions to the socio-economic and physical development of Nigeria through the production of oil and abundant intellectual resources.
Describing the UPU as a socio-cultural body that serves as the umbrella and highest decision making body of the Urhobo Nation, the UPU PG said “Urhobo people are happy with the quality leadership styles of President Tinubu, and cited the ongoing development projects as critical factors informing the continued support for him by the Urhobo Nation.
In an interview, Olorogun Owe underscored President Tinubu’s efforts in stabilizing Nigeria’s economy, and strengthening national unity, and emphasized that his administration deserved a second term to consolidate its current progress and achievements.
“I salute the courage of Olorogun Omodoro Adeseye-Ogunlewe for coming out boldly with a pressure group on behalf of Urhobo people at home and in the Diaspora to rally support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a way of negotiating for empowerment and development projects for Urhobo Nation,” he asserted.
The UPU PG declared his support for Amb. Dr. Mrs. Adenike Adeseye-Ogunlewe and her UNFT team in their efforts towards actualizing another tenure of four years that will terminate in 2031 for President Tinubu, stressing that Urhobo Nation cannot be in opposition and expect the narratives to change in terms of federal appointments and development projects.
He also commended Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for paying off the huge debts owed by the country before he assumed office, describing him as Mr. Fix-it President who awarded contracts for the rehabilitation of the East-West Road and Amukpe-Abraka- Agbor highway which also pass through a substantial part of Urhoboland.
He urged Olorogun Dr. Mrs. Ambassador Adeseye-Ogunlewe to keep in touch with the hierarchy of the UPU for suggestions and useful advice as she carries out her noble assignment on behalf of Urhobo Nation.
