As the door opened and the Visitors came out in front of Asterix Ranch and Resort, one very conspicuous feature of the place is the presence of peace, security, senerity and tourists in very joyful moods.
Indeed, the drive to Asterix Ranch and Resort located in Eku, by the bank of Ethiope River, Delta state, is not only smooth, the resort known for its’ serenity, provides a perfect sand beach location with nature giving all it has, to the Visitors.
The fresh air, fresh river water from the River Ethiope coupled with the sight of monkeys that are equally at peace with nature makes the Resort a natural facility for picnic activities, boat cruising, swimming, footballing, relaxation and so on.
The Asterix Ranch and Resort’s swimming pool which stretches from the Resort into the Ethiope river, a river famous for its crystal clear waters, is indeed, for tourists and visitors a beautiful destination for boat ride, swimming, canoeing and pinicking by the river bank. There is not only a restaurant, that is open for breakfast, lunch and buffet, the resort has a variety of menu options that will make visitors enjoy life to the fullest.There is also a 3- star hotel that visitors can stay for as long as they can afford. The resort has capacity to receive about 500 tourists daily and over 300 guests in the hotel.
When this Editor visited the resort in company of Chief Barrister Fred Majemite, a two time Commissioner in Delta State along with business tycoon, politician and multi billionaire Chief Andrew Oru as well as the Deputy Speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly, Chief Hon Arthur Akpovwowo among others, one thing was obvious: everyone was in a happy mood.
Apart from the vegetation around the resort being one of the richest natural floristic areas in the Savannah, this Editor’s love for tourism as well as the show of love for nature by the other visitors, makes the resort a real shill out for the high and mighty as well as the average people who are in love with nature and pleasure.
For the entire moments, the visitors spent at the resort, attendants offered us different variety of foods including roasted fresh fish from the river. The quality of service at the resort was super excellent. At a point, a call came in from London and this Editor noted ” We are in the most delightful tourists destination in Eku” And the caller shouted” Chief Akpotor Dudu’s Asterix Ranch and Resort must be it”.
Indeed, Chief Akpotor Dudu, a Community leader, business tycoon known for his Oil and Gas, transportation, real Estate, hospitality prowess and so on, is a social mobiliser with impressive network of social relationships cutting across all strata.
For the people of Eku and its environs, the addition of Asterix Ranch and Resort is not just another joy, it is a world of its own.
