League  Mourns Margaret Orakwusi, Commiserates With Family

The League of Maritime Editors, an assemblage of Senior Journalists and Maritime Editors on Monday expressed shock over the demise of  Barrister (Mrs) Margaret Onyema-Orakwusi, Chairman, of the Ship Owners’ Forum.

The League in a condolence message to the family signed by the Public Relations Officer, Mr Francis Ugwoke on behalf of the League’s President,  Chief Timothy Okorocha described Barrister (Mrs) Margaret Onyema-Orakwusi’s death as devastating to the entire maritime industry. Furthermore, while commiserating with the family Okorocha prayed to God to give the immediate family and the maritime community the fortitude to bear the loss. He described Orakwusi as an epitome of knowledge as well as an erudite maritime personality who contributed immensely to the development of the industry and noted that the maritime industry will miss her wealth of experience for a long time to come.
Orakwusi, a well-known maritime personality is a Lawyer, Chief Executive Officer of Morbod Group, Chairman, the Ship owners forum, and former Chairman, of the Nigerian Shipping Trawlers Association. She is survived by her children Ezinma Ileka, Binyelum, and Ody Orakwusi.
