This edition of South South International Magazine is partially devoted to social justice. We have done similar editions in our near twenty years of being on the news stand and over a decades of being online. The results have been wonderful.

This edition’s cover is about how a citizen of this country, Chief Benson Majemite, used his company’s name: Bemido Global Services to invest ₦10.8m in DW Areben Global Investment Limited, a company owned by David Wealth Ezuzu and when the company could no longer pay the return on the investment which has grown to N45m, DW Areben Global Investment Limited, Chief executive, David Wealth Ezuzu entered into an agreement with Chief Benson Majemite for him to buy one of his properties located at plot 27 Umuji, Umuzeafada family land, Okosi 1 areas along Asaba-Benin road, Delta State. The land in question measure 1,3116.936 square meters was then sold to Benson Majemite with a deed of conveyance and survey plan number 2545/DT/847/2020. After the purchase, Majemite did a fresh survey of the land using Chief Surv. Aboh Goddy Williams, a registered surveyor. The survey with plan number 2420/DT/6860/2021 was lodged with the Ministry of Land, Survey and Urban Development, Asaba.

In June 2022, he got to discover that his property was among the property listed in a plea bargain agreement between the federal government represented by the EFCC and David Wealth Ezuzu in suit No. B/CD/EFCC/107/22.The judgement was delivered on July 5,2022. Since then Majemite has been running from pillar to post, writing petitions to the EFCC and even deposed to an application to the Court that gave the judgement requesting it to delist the property from the plea bargain. When the Court heard the application, it dismissed Majemite’s application on the ground that it sat as a criminal Court, as such, it can not treat issue of ownership of property and it is functus-officio. What that means is that

the court no longer had the power to modify the order it earlier made. He didn’t give up. The entire episode is in this edition

Also, the story of Okiemute Dennis Ogheneovo, a Chief and Agriculture Consultant based in Lagos, who was introduced to a multi-millionnaire based in Ghana to revive his farm, by another businessman. But Okiemute’s refusal to compromise standard with the person who introduced him to the multi-millionnaire made a once flourishing business relationship went sour and landed him in Police cell for over one month until he was arraigned in Court. The two stories were written by yours truly, Ovie Edomi and they are unputdownable.

Still talking about this edition, the Aliko Dangote’s story of how the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, facilitated the establishment of his factory- the Dangote’s refinery. There is also the Senator Oshomhole v. Senator Udume’ argument on the floor of the house over Omokri’ nomination for clearance by the National Assembly, your usual maritime stories, politics, mindhunters, entertainment, sports and so on.

This edition is indeed, a must read. Thanks for your highly esteemed partnerships and patronages. We deeply appreciate. Have a great Christmas celebration and happy new year in advance. God bless you.
